Frequently Asked Questions
Starting therapy can come with a lot of questions and that’s totally normal. Here are a few FAQs to help you get a better feel for how I work. And if you’re wondering about something not listed, feel free to reach out.

Submit an inquiry form here, sharing a bit about yourself and what you’re looking for in therapy.
I will reach out to schedule a free 20-minute consultation. Here we can talk through any questions you may have and briefly get to know each other. Finding the right therapist matters, so we’ll explore if my approach aligns with your needs.
Our first session is a 60-minute intake session and is all about me getting to know you- your experiences, challenges, and goals for therapy. We’ll discuss what brought you to therapy and how I can best support this process. And- you’ll get a chance to ask me any questions too.
We’ll figure out the frequency and cadence that works for you and start meeting regularly from there. We will continue to check in on this process to make sure it continues to feel right for you.

Yes! I offer a free 20-minute consultation so we can talk about what’s bringing you in, answer any questions you have, and see if we’re a good fit. If it turns out we’re not, I’ll provide referrals to help you find someone who is.

My approach depends on what you’re coming in for and what feels like the best fit for you. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), internal family systems (IFS), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), emotion-focused family therapy (EFFT), relational therapy, narrative therapy, and somatic practices.

I’m a private-pay therapist and am not in-network with insurance. However, I can provide a superbill if you'd like to seek reimbursement through your out-of-network benefits. I always recommend checking with your insurance provider to learn more about your coverage and reimbursement rates.
Private pay comes with some benefits—like greater autonomy in your treatment. Together, we can decide the frequency and duration of sessions without needing insurance approval. You also maintain more privacy, since insurance companies may request access to your records when approving treatment.
Please note: I am not in-network with Medicaid. Under Colorado law, I am unable to provide services to clients with Medicaid plans—even if they wish to pay out of pocket. I’m happy to help you explore alternative options.

Yes. I hold a limited number of sliding-scale spots at a reduced rate. At this time, these slots are full, but I’m happy to add you to the waitlist if you're interested.

“Healing moves at the speed of trust.” With that in mind, I usually recommend starting with weekly sessions so we can build a strong foundation. Over time, clients often move to bi-weekly, monthly, or as-needed sessions.
The length of therapy varies. Some people come for a few months, others continue for longer. It really depends on what you’re working through, what’s happening in your life, and what goals you’re hoping to meet. I’ll check in with you along the way so we can make sure the process still feels aligned.

I ask that clients cancel or reschedule sessions with at least 48 hours' notice. Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged the full session fee.
That said—life happens. Each client gets one “free pass” per year for an unexpected late cancellation. (This doesn’t apply to no-shows.)
